FAQ’S

How do you 3D print in nylon?

Using digital technology, the design is printed from a file into PA12 Nylon (SLS). Selective Laser Sintering uses high power lasers to bind or sinter very fine powered material to create a solid form. When the material is thin it is flexible and rigid when thick.

What are the properties of PA12 Nylon?

PA12 nylon is a lightweight, smooth, durable material. It is chemically resistant, temperature resistant, food safe and biocompatible.

What is the dyeing process?

The pieces are placed in a hot solution of synthetic dye until the required colour has been achieved. At times there may be a variation of colour because of this.  Once the jewellery has been dyed is left to dry before handmade recycled silver findings are attached.

Will you be able to resize or repair my jewellery?

On ordering a ring, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they have ordered the correct size. If you require a certain ring size which is not available, please contact Carly Hitchens Jewellery and we will be happy to help.

For repairs please contact us at info@carlyhitchens.com and we will be happy to assist you. Each repair will be handled on an individual basis depending on the damage that has occurred and the costs to repair it. The customer will be responsible for any damage or accidental damage which has been caused by incorrect care.

How to care for your 3D printed jewellery?

Please handle your jewellery with care. We recommend cleaning your pieces with warm soapy water and left to dry. Naturally over time the  sterling silver findings can become tarnished. Using a soft lint free cloth buff and polish the sliver, this will keep the piece good condition.

Keep your jewellery stored in separate compartments, in the packaging provided or soft pouches to ensure the pieces are kept safe and will not become damaged.
