Whether it is a sentimental gift or your favourite piece,
caring for your jewellery is very important
To ensure that your jewellery is always looking at its best, the most important thing to do is to simply wear it. This keeps the silver from oxidising and tarnishing in the air. If the jewellery becomes wet, dry it as soon as you can to avoid stains.
Store your jewellery in the box or pouch provided when you’re not wearing it; this will prevent any gemstones or the metal from getting scratched or tarnishing. Also keep in a cool dry place.
Ensure that any jewellery you’re wearing is removed when coming into contact with chlorinated water, as surface damage could occur. This is also the same when using cleaning products or applying perfume, hairspray etc.
To maintain that soft sparkle of the silver, you could use a polishing cloth and gently rub over it to give it that extra shine and keep it to a high standard. You can also use a jewellery cleaning solution – such as Silver Sparkle – please contact me for more information.
Like all jewellery, maintaining the glamour of the stone is most important. It could be any stone – Blue Topaz or Citrine for example. To give the stone a quick clean, just rub over with a soft cloth. All stones are different, but all need to avoid contact with soap, water etc… If you have any queries about the care of the jewellery or are unsure please do contact me via the email address on my contact page.
